Nano-TCAD at EuroHack2023
Two of our in-house computational nanoelectronics codes were selected for the yearly "HPC Hackathon" organized by the Swiss National Supercomputing Centre.

A team composed of Manasa Kaniselvan, Jiang Cao, Alexandros Ziogas, and Jente Clarysse from the Nano-TCAD group attended the EuroHack this week - a "HPC Hackathon" organized by CSCS in Lugano, Switzerland. Along with guidance from mentors at NVIDIA and CSCS, they worked on accelerating two in-house codes which they wrote from scratch to run on GPUs. Through a combination of code refactoring, directives-based GPU programming, and writing custom GPU kernels, the team achieved code speed-ups which have unlocked the possibility of simulating much larger system sizes. It was a week of focused coding, teamwork, and a lot of fun!
